Beth Byrne (NY) – HSCG Board Member – Speaking on Soapmaking with Botanicals.
Birdie Dozier (TN) – Nationally recognized by soapmakers as an expert on soapmaking with essential oils.

Register for this event through snail mail – United States Postal Service  Sign up early as the conference is expected to fill up fast.  When your payment and information below arrives, you will receive an email confirming your registration.

4)    How long you have been making soap.

5)    Boxed Lunch options – choose one.

A)   Chicken Salad on Ciabatta, Fruit Cup, Cookie

B)   Hummus Sandwich on Ciabatta, Fruit Cup, Cookie

6)    I will participate in the Soap Gift Swap – Your best soaps packaged as a gift – value of 25.00   Yes / No

7)    I will bring two soaps for the fun soap challenge: Beauty (best bar) and The Beast (ugliest)   Yes  / No

8)    I may be interested in pre-purchasing supplies. Yes / No  (A notice on FB and an email to registered attendees will go out listing the pre-buys.

9)    I will donate some of my handcrafted soap for the local woman’s shelter.   Yes / No

10) We have limited space for a de-stash / yardsale (only soap / candle making items.) More information to follow. I have some items to sell at the PGH Soapmakers Destash   Yes / No

This year we will have 2 nationally recognized speakers at the gathering.

Beth Bryne – HSCG Board Member from NY will speak on Herbal Soapmaking

Birdie Dozier – Hailing from TN, she is nationally recognized among soapmakers for her knowledge and skill with essential oils. She will speak about essential oils and have a hands on project for attendees.

Event Location: Shaler Library

Saturday, May 2, 2015       10:15 AM – 4:15 PM

A larger group will gather for this exciting event. Bring a bag lunch and a drink.

A day of demonstrations, hands-on participation, and techniques focusing  on:

* Specialty oils like cocoa butter and almond oil.

* Techniques to add color in cold processed soap with oxides, mica, natural plant, and liquid colors

* Creative designs as we play with swirls, imbeds, and sparkle

Gathering Attendees receive notebook with handouts and coupons.

As always, wear old clothes, bring a long-sleeved shirt, and closed-toe shoes. Attendees must be age 18 or older.
